I am a PhD and an associate professor (docent) in the study of religion at the University of Helsinki. My work focuses on societal topics, including technology, politics, and media. I have also taught about 15 different university courses, ranging from methodology to politics and religion. I am the co-editor of Temenos - Nordic Journal for the Study of Religion.
Right now, I'm working on an Academy of Finland-funded project, Playing God? Religionization of Big Tech (RELTEC), which runs from 2026 to 2030. It analyzes how people in the Anglophone West commonly associate technology (particularly big tech à la Silicon Valley) and religion. When I have some spare time, I enjoy non-fiction, video games, and bicycling.
